I would guess that most professional sporting events take place weekdays after 5PM EDT and on the weekends. In both instances, markets are generally closed. If we expect game-day traders to significantly contribute to volume and volatility of the contracts, the SRI must be available for trading 24/7 at the outset, versus occurring naturally as [...]

A few weeks ago I initiated a conversation with Chris about his vision and the direction of efforts to bring the SRI to market. As I’ve mentioned in this forum and others before it, I’ve supported the concept since the SRI was first introduced. I initiated the conversation because I wanted to impress upon him [...]

Will the trading of sports derivatives (please correct me if that term is incorrect) more closely resemble the trading of futures or the trading of stock options? There are many more investors who are familiar with stock options than there are who trade futures. I think this is an important distinction that will help determine [...]

My first thought was, Wow! Somebody actually made a stock market based on sports and where you can place trades and make money based on your knowledge of sports. This is fantastic! Now I’m not even a big sports fan but, having worked in the Brokerage/Securities industry for more than a decade, ASM immediately made [...]

Thanks for the clarification Chris. If our goal is to educate the public and ourselves, I think it would be helpful to confirm our own understanding of the SRI. This Group can start by identifying the archived document that provides the best overview of the SRI product. Studying this document will help ensure we have [...]

I thought I read an update that referenced the period of time the patent is subject to challenge after publication. Does anyone know what that time period is?
Secondly, what would be the next steps or phase in the evolution of the SRI after publication or expiration of the challenge period?
Thanks,

I’m delighted that Chris created this dynamic new community. I hope to engage with other stakeholders who share his (and our) vision for the SportsRiskIndex. I look forward to a lot of positive and meaningful dialogue. Go SRI!
